Pioneer Square Renaissance? – On location, Christina Mallet photography.

Today, while shooting my client Jen, I learned that that the new restaurant I’ve been waiting for, Bar Sajor, is finally open! Yipee!

“Bar Sajor (pronounced sigh-YORE) represents a major renovation of a 100-year-old building on the southwest corner of Occidental Avenue South and Jackson Street, the end of a pedestrian walkway with more than its share of empty art galleries. Momentum for positive change is building.” – Puget Sound Business Journal

I’m no genie but, I’m pretty sure we’re on the precipice of a Pioneer Square renaissance.

My studio has been in Pioneer Square close to 5 years, and for the first time ever, I feel something really great is starting to happen.

With the new residential development happening near Qwest field, and that aforementioned restaurant, I think Pioneer Square has the chance to become the gem it deserves to be.

I do  hope that with this new brand of Pioneer Square fab, that the new neighbors and businesses with be encouraged to co-habitat with street art, like the sort below, taken with my iPhone.
